ISO/IEC 20000-1
ISO/IEC 20000-1 is a standard of requirements for IT Service Management System (SMS) and allows an organization to improve planning, design, transition, delivery, and improvement of services to meet the requirements of the customer and provide value (iso.org).

ISO/IEC 20000-1 is applicable to any IT organization, where the organization or part of an organization that manages and offers a service or services to internal or external customers. This document could help an organization that wants to demonstrate its capability to improve the delivery and improvement of its services and review its SMS (iso.org).

History of ISO/IEC 20000-1
ISO/IEC 20000 was originally developed based on the earlier BS 15000 which was developed by BSI Group. The first edition of ISO 20000 was released in 2005. Then, the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 standard was upgraded to ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 in 2011 and later on changed to ISO/IEC 20000-2:2012 in 2012 (Wikipedia 2021). However, the latest version was established in 2018 (ISO 2000-1:2018), after being revised by the ISO IT Service Management and IT Governance.
